Vimeo launches app to create, edit, share videos

Popular video enthusiast site Vimeo.com has released a free iPhone app that allows you to access your Vimeo account, browse videos, and edit and share videos created on your mobile device.

Vimeo.com is available for the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. The app allows you to shoot video, and then edit and trim it while adding title, description, music, effects, tags, credits, and other recordings.

The edited videos (in both high-resolution as well as a lower resolution format) can be uploaded straight to Vimeo’s website. Users can even share the videos on social-networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, WordPress and Tumblr. Videos can also be shared through MMS and e-mail.

Vimeo comes with user-requested features like the Inbox, the ability to Watch Later, and Vimeo's selection of Channels.

The difference between Vimeo and more popular video site YouTube is that the former encourages a creative community of original work and bans commercial content.

Overall, Vimeo for iPhone is an excellent way to check out the popular video Web site's content with many of the features Vimeo users love and adore.
