The T-Mobile G2x, the device formerly known as the LG Optimus 2x, has gone up for sale on T-Mobile USA online site. It is considered to be one of the most powerful Android devices available in the market.
LG’s G2x is essentially the US version of LG's Optimus 2x phone. The phone runs vanilla Android 2.2 Froyo (the Optimus 2x has LG’s UI customizations on top and Froyo underneath) but the device is expected to get an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in June.
The T-Mobile G2x features a dual-core 1 Ghz Tegra chip to give you that unmatched multimedia and entertainment experience. It has got a 4-inch WVGA screen and a cool 8MP rear facing camera with 3264×2448 pixels, LED flash and auto focus lens and HD video recording. With this you can capture high-definition (HD) videos and wirelessly connect a compatible HD TV or other DLNA device for streaming full HD video content. The phone supports 4G, too, via T-Mobile's HSPA+ data network.
It comes with 8GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB of additional external storage via microSD memory cards. The phone is also equipped with HDMI, accelerometer, a gyro sensor, and a micro-USB port.
The suggested retail price for the T-Mobile G2x is $499.99, but after an instand discount and a mail-in rebate it goes down to the price of $199.99, with a two-year contract attached. The device is currently available exclusively online.
