New Jersey-based Ten One Design, aims to solve this problem with their new tactile game controller for iPad – Fling. It is an innovatively designed device which uses a twisted piece of plastic along with two suction cups on one side to hold it firmly on the iPad. Inside of the plastic ring there is a spiral that suspends an electrically conductive joystick in the center. What’s impressive about this joystick is that it creates near-perfect balance between smooth movement and the joystick’s tendency to center itself. This means that the joystick thumb pad flings back to the center position once moved slightly.
Fling’s spiral design creates actual physical resistance, which gives games greater directional control. Ten One Design says that Fling works with any iPad game with a directional pad, or virtual joystick. Some of the games that worked best with the joystick are Infinity Field, Minigore HD, and Spider-Man: Total Mayhem HD, as well as many First Person Shooter ad RPG titles for the iPad. While using the Fling, what you’ll certainly notice is that the joystick will not fail to register your movements and your reaction time will become quicker and movement precise. This will make your iPad gaming experience much better. The Fling is available in three different colors: black, blue, and purple.
The build quality of the device is quite sturdy and portability is one of its big points. You can carry the joystick thumb pad in your pocket.
