Huge crowds gathered at New York City's Ground Zero to celebrate Osama bin Laden's death. The crowd, of mostly young people, New Yorkers and visitors, were jubilant and seen chanting “Obama got Osama.” Similar gatherings were also seen in New York’s Times Square.
“Nine years. Seven months and 20 days: We've waited for long,” said one New-Yorker.
Also, the news triggered a wave of thousands posting their messages at Twitter. There were an average of more than 4,000 tweets per second recorded during Obama’s TV address. Facebook also reported similar sorts of activities with users swapping stories and commenting on the news on their pages.
