Crayola ColorStudio HD app brings coloring to your iPad

By: Aseem Gaurav on July 11, 2011

There is good news for those who want to introduce their kids to the world of drawing and coloring – that too in a digital style. To give colouring the 21-st century makeover Griffin Technology and Crayola have announced the release of Crayola ColorStudio HD for iPad.

The iPad app is designed to work with a special marker pen stylus called the iMarker, a marker-shaped stylus which is multi-functional having different drawing tips, colors, and an eraser.

Within the ColorStudio app, kids can select a marker, crayon, pen, or paintbrush effect and pick their colours.

The app comes with 30 different animated coloring pages. Young artists can also choose to design an unlimited number of their own coloring pages using ColorStudio HD’s extensive built-in library of backgrounds, music and sound effects. You’s also notice that there is a separate layer inside each of these pictures, so the child can’t go outside the lines and turn it into a mess.

The app will only respond to iMarker input, which means that you can’t use your fingers to mess up the picture.

While colouring the app, there is a variety of background music available, and after you complete the wok the built-in animations bring the pictures to life. You can also email the finished artwork via E-mail and share it through popular social networking channels like Facebook or print it from the iPad.

Drawing on the iPad is pure fun and is an extremely fun activity with children or even other age groups.

The Crayola ColorStudio HD app works exclusively with a $30 iMarker which works best when there is no screen protector on the iPad.
