Game review: Cave Bowling

By: Aseem Gaurav on July 11, 2011

This could be one of the most fun and addictive apps that you’ll ever come across. Cave Bowling is a game that involves the principles of physics where you need to chuck the ball to knock down all the pins in your way in one go with the help of an arrow plus speed.

Set up in the "prehistoric" era of cavemen, dinosaurs, and various other creatures, the terrain changes from spinning objects, slopes, geysers and all those things that affects your ball’s movement.

You score points by hitting the bones that are floating along the way of pins. You’ll get bonus points by chaining pins, but they'll get deducted if you hit your neighbours standing there in amusement.

You may find the game just like the other catapult games but it is a refreshing game having interesting gameplay elements. The game remains challenging as new elements are introduced in a constant manner to keep the interest level high. At initial levels all you need to do is to set the angle and speed and chuck the ball, but in the later stages you will encounter animals like turtles that can that bounce your ball away, and snakes and other critters. What’s interesting is you may have to sometime use those animals to go to the next round.

There are 60 prehistoric stages to clear and you can even auto-save your best solution to each level. You can also submit your scores online.

Besides introducing rising scale of difficulty, the gameplay has got great entertainment and fun level which has become a staple of Donut Games. The game will surely be liked by casual gamers.

Overall, it is a must-have for fans who love ‘simple to play’ games. Moreover, the eye-catching visuals and exquisite gamplay are enough to make it worth a download.
