Apple gives nod to Cinemax app, despite anti-porn policy

In a surprising move, Apple has given the go-ahead to an iPad app from US pay-TV service Cinemax, which brings with it a host of soft-porn movies and TV series.

Besides streaming regular content like a slew of shows and movies, but in addition it offers ‘After Dark’ category, with content viewable to 17 years of age or older, means that the app qualifies as ‘softcore.’

But many would wonder what made Apple change its stance or is it only a matter of time before the company actually decides to pull Max Go from the App Store until Cinemax removes the After Dark section.

Otherwise there is nothing wrong with the app as it gives access to over 400 of the biggest Hollywood hit movies and indie favorites. It allows users to create playlists and users receive notifications when a new show/episode is available for viewing.

The app is free, and works with the iPhone, the iPod touch and the iPad – but to use it you need a valid Cinemax subscription.
