Boxee has launched its official, free iPad app, allowing users to watch streaming content on the tablet device and transfer playback from the iPad to the Boxee Box.
Boxee has launched its free iPad app which aims to turn your tablet into an even stronger media machine. The app allows users to stream videos directly from PC to iPad as well as bookmark videos to “Watch Later.” Videos can be shared online through social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.
Install Boxee Media Manager (also free for Windows and Mac) on your desktop and you are ready to share virtually any video file format. You could also steam the video content to your television as well through a Boxee Box that can be purchased for $199.
The interesting part of the app is Watch It Later bookmarklet which allows you to save any interesting video to your iPad. Boxee has also updated its firmware on the Boxee Box to version 1.2, stomping bugs, adding OS X Lion and HTML5 support.
