Adobe releases photograph-editing app for iPad 2

Adobe Systems Incorporated has officially unveiled its new photo editing app for the iPad 2 – Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPad 2, via the iTunes App Store for $9.99. The company announced it at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2012.

Adobe's thoughtful migration of the popular software to the iPad would provide users a powerful tool that has been designed to deliver beautiful artwork effortlessly.

The new pare down version of app offers core Photoshop features, thus giving users the ability to combine multiple photos into layered images, make edits and apply effects to create artwork, touch up photos, paint, etc. It introduces users the mechanics of multilayered Adobe Photoshop and offers tools like a subset of the Photoshop toolbar, with paint, clone, magic wand, blur, heal, lasso and marquee among options.

The interface of the app is a lot similar to the like you'd find in the desktop version, but perhaps it is less intimidating and more intuitive. For instance, Scribble Selection Tool allows you to scribble over portions of the image that you want to keep and then scribble on the portions that you would like to remove. Moreover, users can also touchup photos, create new layouts and paint over them.

Since the Google Image Search is integrated into the app, the users will find it easy for image acquisition. They can easily learn from step-by-step tutorials and print wirelessly via AirPrint, share via Facebook, and upload work to Adobe Creative Cloud.

The app has been available on the Android market since last November.
