It's been Apple’s mantra for many years: make accessible technology ubiquitous. In this process, the company is now selling the Nest Learning Thermostat via the Apple Store.

The smart thermostat will cost $249.99, and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and even Macs. The gadget allows you to remotely control the temperature of your home via WiFi. The device will adjust the temperature to make it just right.

But how do the device works: Everytime you leave your home or go to bed, you simply have to turn the thermostat down. This will enable Nest to learn your energy consumption behavior and thus it will create a schedule. The device will show a green leaf icon when you set a temperature that saves you energy and money. Thus you can monitor energy consumption of your home when heating and cooling is used most, and then make a plan to cut the cost of your energy bill.

Integration with the Nest Mobile app for both Android and iOS is also a key part of the system's functionality. To pick up the product click here.
