Flipboard, the popular news app that presents content in an attractive magazine-style format, has expanded its services from iOS devices to Google’s Android platform as well as Nook and Kindle Fire tablets. The company said the new app allows addition of Google+ and Youtube accounts along with the existing Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The Android version of the app will now come preinstalled on Samsung’s Galaxy S III on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile USA and Sprint.

The Google+ addition would enable users to see updates from people in their Circles, and posts from pages they subscribe, and see stories in their stream. The YouTube addition means the users can now watch videos from the people they follow and channels they subscribe to, along with the like, share and subscribe facility.

Although the app looks much similar to the iOS app, there are some Android-specific touches throughout. The app looks gorgeous and focuses on imagery to attract you to its different sections. Besides reading articles in general categories like technology, celebrity, auto, you can also set your own resources like: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. The app is sure to impress you with its style of bringing down everything you care about at one place. At the moment, the company is integrating content from 2000 partners.

After Instagram and Smule, Flipboard is one of those biggest names which eventually decided to join Android facility. These companies have understood that Android is too big a platform to ignore.
