Amazon launches online game studio and first Facebook game titled ‘Living Classics’

Retailer Amazon has entered the world of social gaming market even as the companies which pioneered the space, Facebook and Zynga, are finding it difficult to figure out the best possible ways to earn revenues.

Amazon launched Amazon Game Studios and its first social game, Living Classics, hosted on Facebook, by saying that it will do well in the social gaming arena. “Thanks to Amazon's know-how, we believe we can deliver a great, accessible gaming experience that gamers and our customers can play any time," the company said on the Amazon Game Studios website.

The game is a fresh take on hidden object genre that is so common on Facebook and smart phones these days. Here the users need to find a handful of items obscured in pages of classic tales like Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz and the tales of King Arthur. Each page in every picture book level has animated illustrations and moving objects that are difficult for plain eyes to recognize. Your task becomes difficult when an entire character shifts its position. You need to spot all 18 moving pictures and in turn get experience points and coins, which will be handy when you unlock subsequent puzzle pages.

“It’s pretty simple until your eyes betray you,” the company said in a press release.

It also said the results can be shared on with friends and family and in turn rediscover famous stories, and reunite fox families.

Amazon had in July launched GameCircle, a developer program that prompted game makers to develop creative and engaging experiences for the Kindle Fire tablet. Aspiring developers can contact the Amazon Games Studios team.
