Some of the iPhone 5 owners have complained of that the device’s camera is stricken with purple flares when it is being pointed directly at a bright light source.

However, Apple has clarified that purple halos are normal and because of the angling of the device.

In this regard, Gizmodo has posted a reply from an AppleCare support representative named Debby to an iPhone 5 owner.

In outdoors, the haze that emanates from bright light is quite apparent, but indoors, it was less apparent. It happens most often near bright sources like the sun, but also near florescent lighting, and computer monitors.

In the past few days, there’s has been quite a bit of press surrounding some reported problems like iPhones coming out of the box with scratches, poor Wi-Fi connections, light leaking from the crack of the power button and Siri giving wrong weather reports.

However, Apple has not officially commented on these issues.
