Audojo case gives full physical control while gaming on iPad

Audojo, the case with joysticks and buttons, is designed to give you the complete control over your tablet with analog sticks and physical buttons. This functionality was the much required especially for the iOS devices to give them competing power with console games.

It is a Kickstarter project now with a $240,000 goal. It currently has over $24,000 in pledges from 267 backers.

“With an install base of 100 million iPads and the largest library of games, we think there is the potential to be a major player in this space,” Audojo cofounder Matt Tullis told GamesBeat. “We’re delivering a form factor that combines the possibilities of the touchscreen with the benefits of physical controls, similar to the Wii U. When combined with the Apple TV, you can get a console-style experience on your TV.”

Given that the iOS currently doesn’t have any native controller support, the headphone jack is being used with the game. You can attach an iPad 2,3 or 4 to this case, and you’ll have precise control using a couple of actual analog joysticks. Besides you’ll also have two physical trigger buttons that will prove especially good for the first-person shooter games.

In the company’s pitch video, it showed Audojo working with shooter 1948: Dawn of Future and Cowboy Guns, which are both available now in the App Store.

If Audojo gets enough funding, the surely we’ll have in our hands a case that will turn the iPad into a portable console.
