Giving a digital makeover to its services, Delta Airlines has introduced a new iPad app called Fly Delta.

In line with Delta's new $140 million commitment to technology, which includes upgrades to its website, mobile apps and airport kiosks, Delta Airlines has introduced a new iPad app called Fly Delta. The app offers flyers the facility to book flight, advance check-in, and find out what's next on your itinerary.

The app also serves inflight needs, like purchasing WiFi and other onboard amenities. The app’s most exciting part is the "Glass Bottom Jet," which allows passengers connected to Delta's in-flight Wi-Fi service to view visuals of the ground below the aircraft, enhanced with maps, social networks and Internet content.

For instance, while flying above Manhattan, you can check out photos of the Statue of Liberty or reach out to friends as you pass their homes. Other features include integration with Passbook and iPhone 5 features. The Fly Delta app for Android will be updated in early 2013.
