Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has announced its spring lineup of new phones, and one of which is the unusual Medias W by NEC, which has two 4.3-inch screens with 960 by 540 pixel resolutions each.

The Medias W’s two screens when unfolded combine to create a roughly square 5.6-inch display. The phone runs Android 4.1, a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU, an 8-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage memory that's expandable via microSD cards.

The extra real estate offered in the phone enables you to browse on one screen and doing something other on the other. Thus, now you can open the full desktop versions of websites just like you'd expect from a tablet.

In addition, it is easier to type on such a phone, with the keyboard comfortably spanning both screens. A 1.5GHz dual-core processor gives enough processing power to do even complex tasks.

At 12.2mm thick, it has a solid built and the design has a slightly retro charm of its own.
