The screen size of a smartphone has been growing. And in the last couple of years it has grown from the the 3.7″ original to 5 inch -7 inch. If latest figures are of some indication, then phablet shipments are expected to rise by 136 per cent in 2013 as more handset makers inch the size of their handset displays, meaning the garment manufacturers have to come up large size pockets.
As showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show, a lot of over-sized phone were at display that most consumers wanted to have as must-have items of 2013. One of the major reason for such interest in the larger smartphone screens is due to increased richnes and diversity of smartphone content available along with handset makers vying for bring better handset in the market.
Samsung’s 5-5-inch display Galaxy Note II is currently the leader in the phablet segment having sold over 10 million units since its launch at the end of September. Its success led to other players coming out in the market with their own handset having similar screen size and resolution.
