Starting from January 11, 2013, Walmart will offer the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 on a $45 unlimited talk, text and data plan with no contract, provided by Straight Talk.
Straight Talk is also offering an unlimited talk, text, and data plan for $45 per month, which is cost effective as compared to other plans offered by major US carriers.
Additionally, Walmart will also be offering a Walmart Credit Card, which is a financing plan that will let customers to pay pay $25 per month to avoid the large up front cost.
“We believe customers shouldn’t have to choose between saving money and having the latest technology,” said Seong Ohm, senior vice president of Entertainment for Walmart U.S. “Now customers can have the coveted iPhone with unlimited talk, text and data without a contract for $70 a month thanks to our exclusive Straight Talk plan and industry first financing offer.”
Just like other prepaid plans such as Virgin Mobile, users must pay full price for their iPhones without having them subsidized by the carrier. Straight Talk Wireless uses AT&T’s network.
