Just as promised, the Kickstarter-funded, Android-based gaming console OUYA has started shipping March 28.

The console offers 104 published games, and all are for free. The titles include Final Fantasy III, Beast Boxing Turbo, Stalagflight and more.

The general availability of the OUYA will be from June, which will also give the project enough time to gauge the early adopter enthusiasm.

In the US, the consoled will be available on stores like GameStop, Target and Best Buy or they can get it from Amazon for $99.99.

Regarding usage, as soon as users boot up OUYA, a software update will happen, and the backers promise it to be super fast. Also, users will have to enter credit card details before they download games, even free ones.

OUYA’s backers say the software is bound to be upgraded many times before the OUYA becomes available to everyone, which should happen in June.
