Unilever mobile app lets you relive your best nights out

Unilever-owned deodorant brand, Lynx, has launched a mobile app that allows a group of friends on a night out to create a "real-time" record of their evening.

Called Lynx Stream, the app allows users to create a record of the evening in real time through videos, pictures, texts, tweets and status updates from each member of the group’s phones.


The resulting aggregated stream will get a dedicated page and you can then share it the morning after. Unilever calls it “a record of unforgettable nights out”.

You can download the Lynx Stream mobile app for free from the iTunes store and Android Market.

Unilever said the purpose behind this app was to create brand loyalty by providing an essential social tool for young people. It said the Lynx Stream will also act as a media channel in future brand and product campaigns where content can be published directly to Lynx followers.

The Lynx Stream mobile app is an example of how large consumer goods companies are making use of existing social activity streams rather than invent their own social marketing tools and while doing so they are actively promoting their brands among the targeted audience.
