Online video sharing site YouTube has launched 'YouTube Box Office' in India where you can watch a premium blockbuster every month absolutely free of cost.
Youtube Box Office will pick a box office hit and show one per month. To begin with, the channel is airing the latest hit 'Band Baaja Baaraat', starring Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma.
The channel will also offer its library of 1,500 titles including regional language films to watch for free on an ongoing basis.
To air premium movies, Youtube has tied up with various production houses in India and YouTube plans to monetise the viewership of the channel on a revenue share basis with them. Other major source of revenue for video sharing site would be of course advertisements.
Experts believe the initiative will open a plethora of opportunities for the channel as well as the marketers. For now Intel has been roped in as a partner for this new initiative.
