LookTel’s Money Reader app is a wonderful app especially designed to help those with a visual impairment accurately count their money. LookTel quickly and easily identify and count bills ranging from $1, $2, $5, $10, $20 to $50, and speaks the results.

The working of the app is simple and effective as launching the app will automatically turn on the camera’s viewfinder and flash. Thus all you have to do it iPhone’s camera at any US bill and the application will tell you the denomination in real-time. There is no need to tap the screen to take a photo.

Since the app delivers quick results so it is easy to count large amount quickly. To deliver such accurate and fast results the uses its patented and proprietary object recognition technology.

Besides counting money, the app can be used to identify landmarks, recognize objects and read back text. It may also be used with GPS and maps to provide a voice guidance system for the blind.

The app certainly scores high in terms of quick results and accuracy but the only lose point is that it works with the dollar. Well, we hope the updated version will include other currencies as well.
