Avid Studio, a heavyweight in the digital media-editing software world, with industry standard pro brands like Media Composer and Pro Tools, has released a video-editing app for the highly popular tablet iPad. The $4.99 app offers various 'prosumer' features that are associated with the desktop suite and hopes that iPad owners will use it in collaboration with the full suite for Mac and PC.
The app, which gives users an alternative to Apple's iMovie software, will enable users to arrange and fine-tune clips with frame-by-frame edits.
It works with all kinds of media, be it video, photo and/or music. Users can either the media from the iPad itself, or from an external device.

The finished clip can then be shared directly to YouTube, Facebook, or directly upload your video to Avid on your PC for more editing.
Some of the pretty amazing things that you can do with this app include: creating multi-layer 3D animations, transitions, and titles with included Montage templates. It's easy to create picture-with-picture effects using the app besides titles using text.
Avid feels the app is in response to how people are now suing the tablets to make things rather than just consume. Although there are all sorts of video editing apps available in the market, Avid offers the advantage of its integration with the desktop software.
