Are you looking for a new keyboard for your third-generation iPad, which not only offers sleek design but is equipped with loads of features? Then Logitech has something to impress you. The company has come out with its Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for the third-generation iPad that not only turns your iPad into a notebook but also acts as a screen cover.

Logitech’s new Ultrathin Cover combines the iPad Smart Cover technology with a full keyboard to give you more control over writing, viewing and safety purposes. The cover easily attaches itself to the iPad via a magnetic hinge just like the Smart Cover and gives a feeling similar to owning an Asus Transformer Prime.

The new keyboard, suitable for iPad 2 and iPad 3, features an aluminium screen cover that protects your iPad screen and a Bluetooth wireless keyboard. The cover also act as a stand and features the same Instant On/Off feature as found in the official Apple smart cover. This basically means the iPad will automatically wake up or go into standby mode when the cover is opened or closed, respectively.

It is a pretty smart and decent cover that is high on aesthetics. The aluminum bottom of the keyboard which becomes a protective cover for the precious Retina display perfectly matches the iPad’s own metal back. However, one thing that you’ll surely notice is that the cover offers only one viewing angle which you may not comfortable when you are lying down in bed. Logitech is offering a six-month battery life (based on two hours-per-day usage), so you don’t have to worry too much about your keyboard losing power. The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe later this month, for an estimated price of $100. In case you haven’t committed yourself in buying a new cover your new tablet, then it may be one of the best options available for you.
