Nintendo has announced that the XL-sized Nintendo 3DS will be coming to North America on August 19.

The top screen of the new device is 4.88 inches while the bottom is 4.18 inches, both 90 per cent bigger than the earlier 3DS version. It would be called the Nintendo 3DS LL in Japan and the Nintendo 3DS XL in the West.

The company has priced Nintendo 3DS XL at $199.99 and said it would include a 4GB memory card. The device would be available in two color variations: blue and red. The system also comes bundled with New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Onitore.

The most significant feature of Nintendo 3DS XL is its improved batter life. Now the battery would last 3.5 to 6.5 hours while playing 3DS games while 6 to 10 hours for DS games.

Also, the device won’t come with an adapter and you need to purchase it separately; however, if you own a 3DS, its adapter will work.
