The device’s dimensions are:  18.8 inches wide, 5.5 inches tall, and 3.7 inches deep, and 1.8 kg of weight. There are four buttons in the front for (Power, Volume Up, Volume Down, and Bluetooth) and two LEDs to show about charging and Bluetooth status. On the back there are two passive speakers/radiators, foldout stand, and input and power ports. Also, Boombox did not distort the sound, and produces an impressive aural experience with deep bass, clean midrange, and sharp treble, even at louder volumes. Wire Boombox’s built-in rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery gives six hours of play time on a single charge. Overall, the device has got a nice feel factor to it and besides home it can prove to be a great travel companion.




iHome iW1 AirPlay wireless audio system

The iW1 is a portable speaker system to stream amazing audio experience within the Wi-Fi network range. The device comes with a slew of features like capacitive controls, app support and a rechargeable battery, with a price tag that’s a bit on the higher end ($300). The iW1 has a black body that has chrome trim wrapping around the base. The unit measures 12.5 inches wide, 7.3 inches tall, and 3.7 inches deep — and weighs six pounds. On the top there seven touch-sensitive controls: On/Off; a volume slider; two buttons for choosing whether to use AirPlay or a USB-connected iPod or iPhone; Previous; Pause; and Next. At the unit’s back there’s a power switch, a Battery Status button, a USB port for iPod and iOS-device connections, a 1/8-inch (3.5mm) line-in jack; a Wi-Fi status LED, a firmware-status LED, and a Wi-Fi Network Setup button. iW1 is designed in such a shape that it can accommodate the built-in rechargeable battery including charging base. It also incorporates two 3’ woofers and two 1’ tweeters for a combined rating of 13 x 2 watts of power. iW1’s speakers also feature a playback control panel, but you can also control them via your iOS device or an IR remote. The company claims that iW1’s lithium-ion battery lasts 10 hours at moderate volume. The company also offers users with the option of quickly connecting the device with WiFi network by using a new iOS app called iHome Connect. However, one of the losing points of the device is its button system. For instance, you can’t see the full spectrum of volume levels at the top because it only displays one led light at a time. Overall, it is a nice portable unit that offers amazing experience.



Bose SoundLink Wireless Mobile speaker

The unit is a stunning piece of art that can be equally used to deliver great sound. The device comes with a built-in lithium-ion battery that delivers up to eight hours of playback, and can be extremely useful for outdoor purposes: especially when you are having a barbeque or pool party. The outer shell of the device oozes elegance and feels very solid in hand. One of the strong points of the whole unit is its portability: the whole unit measures 5.1 inches tall by 9.6 inches wide by 1.9 inches deep, and weighs 2.9 pounds. The device comes with an integrating a protective nylon grille cover, which doubles as the speaker’s stand. According to Bose, the device has been extensively tested for durability by doing drop-tests and exposed to simulated salt-air fog. The unit, which is equipped with A2DP profile support, can easily pair with Bluetooth enabled services within a maximum range of 30 feet (9.14 m) and stores the six most recently used in its memory. User can easily stream music while texting or browsing, but audio is paused in case of a phone call. At the back of the SoundLink there is a standard 3.5mm audio input for connecting it other audio devices that don’t offer Bluetooth. To pair the device, you need to hold down the Bluetooth button at the top of the speaker and select “Bose SoundLink Wireless” from the Bluetooth setup menu on your phone. The company claims that its internal Li-ion battery will last up to four hours with the volume maxed, and around eight if you keep things in moderation. The base model will cost you $300 while the premium LX variant with comes at $350.
