New iPad app makes it easier to buy a Ford

Ford has rolled out a new dealership iPad app that eases the buying process for customers. The app allows dealers to see which vehicles in stock most closely match the needs of a customer and in addition offer product information to help out new customers in their showrooms.

According to Ford, the customers found showroom kiosks to check out vehicles and features quite cumbersome, and the new “Showcase”app fix this issue by helping dealers find the right car for their customers faster than ever.

“It is tedious and time-consuming process while waiting for the sales consultant to check inventory or wandering the aisles of a car lot in search of just the right combination of colors and options. Moreover, bad weather also prevents consumers to go out to dealers,” said Michelle Moody, Ford's cross vehicle marketing manager, in a statement.

“In case the customer wants to discuss the purchase with his/her partner, the sales representative will send an e-mail giving all the relevant information on the specific vehicle directly to the customer,” the company said.

The new iPad app also offers customers videos about optional and safety features of a specific model.
