The device runs on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform and comes with 10.1-inch PLS TFT screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, accompanied by a 1.9 MP front camera and 5 MP rear camera.

The tablet gets its power from the same Exynos 4412 chipset with a quad-core 1.4GHz processor and Mali-400MP GPU found in the Galaxy S III. With 2GB of RAM, it allows you to do a lot of multitasking. The storage capacity can be expanded further up to 32GB through the microSD card slot.

The Note 10.1 adds an active digitizer layer to the touchscreen which makes it possible to be used with a stylus which can be used to write down notes, draw picture or even make advanced modifications to a photo. It is made possible by Adobe Photoshop Touch app, which comes for free on the tablet.

The tablet has a slim profile measuring 6.9" x 10.11" x 0.35” in dimension and weighs 583 grams. Other useful features of Note 10.1 include a microSD card slot, LED flash for the 5MP camera and 3G connectivity. In addition, the tablet comes with a 7000mAh battery that promises longer battery life compared to other tablets.

The device will be first launched in the US, UK, Korea, and Germany and thereafter rest of the world. According to analysts, the new tablet is likely to be an upgraded version of the Galaxy Note and is bound to stir things up in the tablet market.
