There have been speculations about the iPad mini's speaker setup, but now it is confirmed that the iPad mini will apparently mark the first time an iOS device carries stereo speakers.
At the time of product launch, the company did not mention about stereo speakers and rather specified using the singular "speaker" on its tech specs page addressing the device's input/output capabilities. While comparing Kindle Fire HD with iPad mini, Amazon mentioned the speakers as Mono speaker.
However, tech reviewers including The Verge's Joshua Topolsky mentioned that the device does indeed contain stereo speakers. He further said that it has also been confirmed by Apple.
In the US, the iPad Mini is starting at $329 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model, a 32GB iPad Mini is $429, with the 64GB version available for $519. If you're after LTE connectivity, add $130 to the price of each model.
