Superstorm Sandy has caused havoc and massive damage to many lives and businesses all the way from Jamaica to New Jersey. The death toll has climbed to at least fifty, with the clean-up cost believed to be around $50 billion. As a show of sympathy with hurricane victims, Apple has just launched a new webpage on iTunes, which makes it easy for users to donate money to the American Red Cross towards relief efforts.
As per the terms, the tech giant will give transferring 100 per cent of the donations to the American Red Cross without sending users' names or contact information. Apple will not allow iTunes Store credit to be used when making donations.
Any user can easily access the page by clicking the American Red Cross page and pledge donations from $5 to $200 by clicking on the appropriate button on the American Red Cross page.
Earlier too, the company had launched dedicated donations page for charitable purposes. Apple had partnered with the American Red Cross following the devastating Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011 and the Haitian earthquakes in 2010.
