Huawei Ascend G600 available online for Rs. 14,990

Online retailer Snapdeal has started selling Chinese handset maker Huawei’s new handset, the Huawei Ascend G600. Besides Snapdeal, other retailers are waiting for the smartphone to arrive in stock.


The new handset is addition in handset maker’s expanding Ascend range of phones. It is a mid-range 'droid that runs Ice Cream Sandwich and packs a dual-core 1.2GHz chip, a 4.5-inch display and a beefy battery.

The Huawei Ascend G600 comes with a 4.5-inch qHD display (960 x 540) and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 768MB RAM.

The G600 has a VGA front camera and an 8-megapixel rear shooter. Users can expand the memory of the phone by attaching up to 32GB via a microSD card. The phone comes with a 1930 mAh battery which is good for up to 6 hours of talk time on a single charge, or up to 380 hours on standby.

An interesting feature is that you don’t need to swipe in one direction to open up the screen. In terms of processing power, the G600 is a pretty good phone that is quite okay for apps and web browsing.

Huawei claims that the phone offers "smooth, seamless gaming, surfing and videos", however, it remains to be seen whether it suffers fro mthe sluggishness that so many mid-range 'droids’ are affected with.
The phone is toughened with Gorilla Glass to protect against careless knocks.

The G600 also offers an NFC chip which means the phone will be compatible with contactless readers.
