RIM has renamed the name of its app store, BlackBerry App World, to BlackBerry World, as part of the preparations for the launch of BlackBerry 10. RIM says the change reflects new type of content, such as music and videos.
RIM says the Blackberry World will have more than apps to buy, as the new store will give options to purchase videos and music – thus making it a one-stop shop for entertainment needs of smartphone and tablet users.
RIM has previously said “music and video store access may be limited in some regions” — so it looks likely there will be regional supplier variation.
BlackBerry World also supports sharing by tapping NFC embedded BlackBerry smartphones together.
