Microblogging social networking site Twitter has added new functionalities to its Embedded Tweets feature. The new upgrade allows anyone on any blog or news site to see videos, photos, article summaries, and other additional content added to a tweet.

Embedded tweets are popular on the web and the current upgrade will give a boost to the amount of content that can be added to third-party sites.

Explaining the new feature, Twitter executive Jason Costa wrote on the company's official blog, "Embedded Tweets now load faster, have full support for Twitter Cards, and include live Retweet and Favorite counts. Additionally, you now have the ability to embed Tweets using the "more" menu from every Tweet on twitter.com and TweetDeck."

He wrote that Twitter has decreased the number of HTTP requests needed to integrate a tweet in a web page and improved the speed of rendering the content on browsers.
