WikiLeaks has said that late Internet activist Aaron Swartz assisted the organization and may have been one of the organization's sources.
In a series of tweets, Wikileaks claimed was “in communication" with founder Julian Assange during 2010 and 2011.
Wikileaks, a non-profit organization which exposes classified information provided by anonymous sources, said the reason to reveal this information comes in view of the U.S. Secret Service's involvement in Swartz's case. Swartz was charged with computer fraud and other crimes in July 2011, and faced up to 35 years in prison.
The ambiguous WikiLeaks tweets have given rise to speculation about what the group is trying to suggest. It is still hard to draw any conclusion from what Wikileaks meant by highlighting the Secret Service's involvement.
