If you ever felt that your parents are keeping tabs on your Facebook profile pages and pictures, you’re absolutely right. In order to keep a tab on children’s activities in the digital world, parents are pursuing the social media.

According to a new infographic released by Education Database Online, 43 per cent of parents check out their kid's profile daily via Facebook. The study — which was conducted among 500 social media users – found that 92 per cent of parents are Facebook friends with their children (of all ages) and more are turning to the site to monitor their kids’ interactions.

The major reason for parents looking at their kids’ profiles is safety (40 per cent), followed by curiosity (15 per cent).

Out of the survey, nearly 55 per cent of parents also made sure that the social networking medium isn’t interfering with homework, chores or other activities. Other concerns were not spending enough time with friends and family (45 per cent), the potential of meeting strangers (41 per cent), bullying others (17 per cent) and being a victim of bullying (16 per cent).
