Imagine you are writing a hurried note and don’t have time to check your draft. Now a German company Lernstift has come out with a pen that is says will alert you when you’ve made a spelling error.
The pen, which is at the prototype stage, is capable of picking errors in spelling or letter formation in real-time, delivering a warning vibration to the writer's hand.
The pen features a writing technology that recognizes all writing movements, and makes short vibrations when you write a word wrongly.
There are two options to choose from: Calligraphy Mode - pointing out flaws of form and legibility or Orthography Mode - detecting orthographic and grammatical mistakes.
The company calls the pen revolutionary as it eliminates the need to depend on someone to look over shoulder or correct spelling, grammar and form afterwards.
Lernstift further notes that the future generations of such a product could include wi-fi for instant note storage with written words going directly to the cloud. They say it will be extremely beneficial for children as the device will make their learning curve shorter. Creators Falk and Mandy Wolsky were inspired by their son's early writing attempts, according to their website Lernstift.
