After achieving 20 million downloads in the first four days, Imangi Studio’s new blockbuster title Temple Run 2, has now crossed the 50 million download mark.
On January 17, Imangi Studios released the successor to the popular original title Templ Run on the iOS platform, and soon within the first 24 hours it became the most downloaded app.
If we break down the figure , the milestone means 3.83 million copies a day, or roughly 160,000 an hour, or 2671 every minute; that's roughly 45 a second!
The original game is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova, co-founders of Imangi. Last year, the company partnered with Pixar to release Temple Run: Brave in promotion of the movie studio's newest film.
Co-founder of Imangi Keith Shepherd admits that “Temple Run has evolved into something much bigger” than they have imagined.
A sequel to the original title, the new name promises beautiful new graphics, more attractive and immersive environments, additional power-ups and achievements. Although the basic gameplay is same as the original, this time the action is better than the original one.
