New Delhi: Till date Apple’s iPhone 5 is the most expensive smartphone in India, with a price tag of Rs 45,500 for the base model. And with the recent announcements in Union Budget 2013, the smartphone would now probably cost an additional Rs 2000 more. But looking at the popularity of the smartphone, online retailer Snapdeal has decided to offer a discount of over Rs 2000, which would bring down the cost to Rs 42,990.
The 16GB variant of iPhone 5 will now cost Rs 42,990 on Snapdeal.com. Similarly, the 32 and 64GB variants of the smartphone are now available for Rs 50,100 and Rs 57,200.
At the same time, the retailer has also cut the prices of iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4, officially available at Rs 26,500, will now cost Rs 25,990 on the site. Similarly, for iPhone 4S users will now pay Rs 35,500, as against an earlier price Rs 38,500.
What’s striking about the announcement is that this is for the first time that a prominent e-commerce company has slashed the prices of iPhones across the board.
For a buyer these are indeed savings worth having, especially for this impressive smartphone.
