If you happens to be an owner of an iPad Mini or Microsoft Surface Pro, brace for frustration as these tablets are ranked amongst the hardest to repair, according to iFixit.
The engineers and iFixit work really hard in terms of tearing down new devices, revealing all internals in order to give you advice on repairability. So you’d have to rethink against about the safety of these two tablets (previous ofcourse).
iFixit said all of iPad models received a low repairability score of 2, with a "high chance of cracking the glass" and "excessive amounts of adhesive" cited as warnings to anyone wishing to open their own device. The Surface Pro received the score of 1 since it contained lots of sticky adhesive throughout the device.
In contrast, the Amazon Kindle has a repairability score of eight, while the Google Nexus 7 has a repairability score of seven.
