Lenovo is betting big on Windows 8 and more so on laptop-tablet hybrids. It has just added ThinkPad Twist, a laptop-tablet hybrid running on Windows 8 priced at Rs. 71,000 inclusive of taxes.
The laptop is called ‘ThinkPad Twist’ since it is possible to rotate the screen of the device at 180 degrees and it can also be folded on the keyboard to give users the utility of a tablet. The Twist is designed as a tablet, as well as a desktop OS. The hybrid a mere 20mm thick and weighs a mere 1.60 kgs. The laptop has been designed to give it a premium quality and the color option offered is mocha black colour.
The tablet sports a 12.5-inch IPS multi-touch (1366×768 pixels) display and is powered by 3rd generation Intel core processors with options including 1.80GHz i3 and 1.70GHz i5. Other key features include Intel HD GPU, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard disk, 2-megapixel web camera, Dolby Home Theatre 4 audio, a battery which lasts up to 7 hours, and connectivity options like USB 3.0 and multi-card reader among others.
Lenovo has also packaged the ThinkPad Twist with its own Lenovo Solutions for Small Business (LSSB) and Lenovo Solution Centre (LSC) to help protect the device.
Earlier, products that featured similar specifications were the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 and the Sony Vaio Duo 11.
