Although Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S4 may not have too impressive looks from the outside, it is the performance from the inside that has captured the attention of many. The S4 will have the fastest processor available when it launches this spring, according to benchmark tests.

A benchmark series of standard tests to find out the performance of mobile device’s processing speed resulted in a benchmark of 3,163. In comparison, the iPhone 5 received a 1,596, meaning the GS4 is about twice as fast. The GS4 is also twice as fast as the Galaxy S III. What was surprising is that the tests were done with the slow version. As it is known the U.S. variant of the Galaxy S 4 is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon chipset that features integrated LTE radios. The international version features eight-core Exynos process, which will likely offer significant performance benefits.

The new Galaxy S 4 — using Qualcomm’s 1.9 GHz Snapdragon 600 — also returned a score higher than the new HTC One, which also uses a Snapdragon 600.

The S4 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, to a 1.6GHz Exynos 5 Octa-core CPU, a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera, 7.9mm thickness, 130 g of weight, 2GB of RAM, a 2600mAh battery and a collection of Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC and 4G connectivity options. The phone is powered by Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2.
