Chitika Ad Network says Apple’s iPad controlled 81.9 per cent of the tablet web traffic in the first quarter of 2013 in the US and Canada. This is a 1.4 per cent jump month-over-month from December of 2012. Chitika said the jump was due to sales of refurbished fourth-gen iPads and discounted iPad mini starting in mid-March.
Android tablets came in second with 7.1 percent of web traffic with a major portion held by Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Significant contributors include Samsung’s Galaxy tablets with 4.3 percent, and Google’s Nexus tablet tablets with 1.7 percent.
