Psy’s sequel video to the uber-gigantic “Gangnam Style” landed on YouTube, and in lightening speed, or just 16 hours, garnered over 10.7 million views and is counting.
Psy’s newest video has added lots of laughing situations into the music video of the new song. He commented previously, “We’ll need to be told that it’s way out of ‘Gangnam Style’s league in terms of funniness, so we’re currently looking for that laugh factor.” The song features a similar K-Pop beat and the rather bizarre catchphrase "I am a mother, father, gentleman!"
It remains to be seen whether the south Korean artists’ newest video create the same sensation and soar to the top of popularity charts like its predecessor "Gangnam Style" video which reached 1.5 billion views – the most ever on YouTube. It is not doubt that because of huge success of his previous video, he has now something more to prove.
"I got famous for being funny. The dance moves helped. Some call me a 'one-hit-wonder' while some ask me whether I am a comedian or a singer" and "I think of myself as a mainstream singer as well as a mainstream product that people label, just like an object," he had said.
"I would be very grateful if I could maintain my place under the international spotlight but I will continue to follow my instinct and preferences instead of struggling to maintain my popularity overseas,” he has said earlier in an interview.
