It is easy to track your iPad then you’d have possibly thought. If you signed up for Apple's free iCloud service you have an easy way of always locating your iPad –- Find my iPhone.
First sign up for Find my iPad
First, create or login to your iCloud account when you set up your iPad. If you chose not to create or sign into an iCloud account, then you can:
Go to Settings --> iCloud icon --> Sign in --> Turn on the Find My iPad switch
Once logged in, Find My iPhone will immediately begin trying to locate your device. You'll see onscreen messages as it works. If the device is turned off, the map will display its last known location, not necessarily its current location. When it's turned back on, the map will update.
Once it finds your device it will zoom in on the map and display the location of the device using a blue dot. Now you can view it in map, satellite, and hybrid modes, like any Google Map.
Now you can three options:
1. Play Sound or Send Message
2. Remote Lock
3. Remote Wipe
Use option 1 if you think you just misplaced your iPad or that someone borrowed it without asking, by clicking on Play Sound or Send Message.
Use option 2 and 3 if you think that your iPad has been stolen. You may not get your iPad back, but you can take steps to make sure that your information is not stolen along with your iPad.
