Camera Boost enhances images of iPad 2 camera

By: Aseem Gaurav on June 4, 2011

The camera quality of iPad 2 has been a topic of discussion in various forums. Though the slate does shoot decent video, still photography isn’t the camera’s strong point.

If you are one of those who are not impressed with the camera quality of the device and are looking for some solution, then there is an app for that. Camera Boost 1.0, billed as the first dedicated iPad 2 camera app, allows users to get far better results and it’s a really nice and easy app to use as well.

It is the first app to do live image enhancement and effects. Here’s how it works: As you open the camera for shooting the photos, the app is actually open at the same time, thus, allowing you to manipulate and add effects in real time while you are taking photo. Once you are okay with the overall quality of the picture, all you need to do is snap the photo and share it on Facebook and Flickr.

United Kingdom based iOS developers, Interealtime, says the app offers a good range of image enhancements, filters and stylish effects that will transform your pictures, improving image quality or adding creative photo effects.

The app does the above by taking advantage of the tablet’s A5 dual-core processors – so that you can view its filters and special effects in real time. The best part about the app is its image enhancing ability. With the help of it you can adjust for black and white, softness, sharpness, brightness, contrast, and exposure.

Moreover, it comes with a digital 4x zoom feature, that allows for adjustment of Hue and Saturation and is compatible with photo resolutions of 1280×720 (rear camera) and 640×480 (front camera).

The app will prove to be useful for those who want to use your iPad for some photography. Camera Boost 1.0 is available now on iTunes for $2.99.
