Mobile gaming is exciting and fun, but the real problem is that one has to go through a constant war against the touchscreen of their phone. You got it! And some users prefer an accessory that can act as an add on to their handset to give them the best experience in terms of mobile gaming.
The iCade Mobile gaming system for iPhone, which the company previewed in CES, is now available for purchase. The iCade looks similar to a gaming controller and has features like physical buttons, directional pads and a rotating cradle for landscape or portrait mode. The device can connect through wireless Bluetooth and works on the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and 4S, along with iPod Touch (third-generation and fourth-generation). It runs on two AA batteries.
The device works with over a hundred games, including Pac-Man, Super Lemonade Factory, Donkey Jump, AirAttack, as well as other classics.
ION, the company behind iCade, has tasted success with its original product and hopes to repeat it in the mobile market with this launch.
It comes at a price tag of about $70, with over 100 games and apps currently supported.
