By: Aseem Gaurav on July 5, 2012

Last week Google gave a delightful surprise to all iPhone and iPad users who are fond of the Chrome on the desktop, by releasing an iOS app of its popular browser Chrome. The new app comes loaded with features that the users would have expected from Google like: the usual tab browsing and syncing. But, in addition Chrome offers some unique advantages over Apple’s own Safari and Opera Mini, that makes it a popular choice among iOS users. Here, iPadfanzz is giving you five reasons to switch to Chrome for an iPad and iPhone.

1. Ability to sync with other devices

One of the tasty treats from Google Chrome browser is the ability to sync between multiple devices, including Bookmarks. To do so, simply sign in with Google account and Chrome with automatically sync opened tabs, omnibox data, bookmarks, and passwords from your computer to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Thus while using the Chrome browser in iPhone, you can easily fetch the tabs you have opened on your desktop PC. Also, bookmarking a new page through the iOS app is quite simple too. Out of the favourite section, chose: desktop bookmarks, mobile bookmarks and other bookmarks. Thus, you can create a desktop bookmark on your phone.

2. Open unlimited tabs

Unlike Safari where you can open only nine tabs, you can open an unlimited number of tabs on the Chrome browser on the iPad.

3. Easily swipe between tabs

While you can open as many tabs as you want, navigating through them is also quite easy. One the iPhone tabs are spread like cards and you have to (sort of) shuffle through them. This is done by swiping up and down. Swiping to the right will close the tab.

4. Search and surf using Omnibox

The omnibox is a word used for the combined address bar and search field up on top. The omnibox data represent the history of what you've typed into that single box – all synchronise across devices. It is a useful feature where the sites you visit routinely pop up as suggestions when you start typing a URL.

5. Most visited websites on new tab

When you open a new tab, Chrome browser for iOS displays thumbnail versions of your most visited websites. Thus you can quickly switch to the website you most commonly used without the need to remember your browsing pattern.
