Apple has confirmed the rumours of a 128 GB iPad which will be available starting February 5. The iPads, which will be sold via Apple Stores, Apple.com, and authorized re-sellers, are available in black or white for $799 for the Wi-Fi model or $929 for the Wi-Fi plus cellular version.

What’s more important is the new iPad will be direct shot at the Microsoft's Surface Pro which will be released on February 9. The 64GB version of Redmond's tablet will be $899, while the 128GB version will be $999.

Telling about the importance of the iPad in the enterprise market, Apple said, "Virtually all of the Fortune 500 and over 85 percent of the Global 500 [companies are] currently deploying or testing iPad," Apple said today. "Companies regularly utilizing large amounts of data such as 3D CAD files, X-rays, film edits, music tracks, project blueprints, training videos and service manuals all benefit from having a greater choice of storage options for iPad."

Other than storage enhancement, the new iPad is all the same. It still boosts a 9.7-inch Retina display, Apple A6X chip, and FaceTime HD camera. It will come equipped with iOS 6.1, which has just made its debut.
