Apple CEO Tim Cook has given the credit to a stellar first fiscal quarter of 2013 to the company’s employees.

9to5Mac shared an email which Cook has sent to all its staff, where he praised workers for their "incredible hard work and focus" in "another record setting quarter." Cook said sales of 75 million iOS devices in a "testament to the strength of Apple's innovation."

“Team, We've just reported another record setting quarter, thanks to everyone's incredible hard work and focus. We sold over 75 million iOS devices in the holiday quarter alone, which is a testament to the strength of Apple's innovation,” the e-mail said.

Apple has earlier posted record sales of $54.5 billion with profits of $13.1 billion in the quarter ended December 29. A year ago, Apple had sales of $46.3 billion and a profit of $13.1 billion in the first quarter.

During the quarter, Apple sold 47.8 million iPhones, up from 37 million a year earlier. It also sold 22.9 million iPads, up from 15.4 million a year earlier (when the quarter was also a week longer).
