LinkedIn Chief Executive Jeff Weiner gave a surprise shock to the company’s 3,458 full-time employees by rewarding them with an iPad Mini. The staff at LinkedIn will be getting 32GB iPad Mini in white or black.
The news came via a tweet from Darain Faraz, a communications manager at LinkedIn’s UK base. “That awesome moment when your CEO dishes out iPad minis to EVERY employee,” Faraz wrote.
A spokesperson from the company confirmed the news, saying that the social networking site saying that the social networking site for professionals wanted to “acknowledge the hard work and accomplishments of all of our employees in 2012.”
At the same time, employees at Twitter poured their enthusiasm over the social microblogging site Twitter, by going all praise about their new toys.
Earlier this week, LinkedIn reported quarterly profit that beat Wall Street expectations and offered a bullish forecast for the new year, boosting shares of the professional social network in after-hours trading. The company’s net income was $40.2-million, or 35 cents a share, above the 19 cents expected.
The company also posted better-than-expected quarterly revenue of $303.6-million, an 81 per cent rise from a year ago, as millions of new job seekers and corporate recruiters from around the world signed up with LinkedIn to post resumes or poach competitors’ employees.
